Ball pythons are my favorite snake. They are heavy-bodied snakes, yet they stay small and are easy to handle. The only negative about a ball python is it's penchant to suddenly decide it wants to eat something other than what it's been eating for a long time. While you're sitting there with this confused look on your face as you try to hand your ball a fresh-killed or thawed solid white rat that it's been eating for years, it suddenly decides white rats are not what it wants to eat today. It's your responsibility to figure out what it does want to eat: large mice, large white mice, large colored mice, gerbil, fried okra, hooded rats, t-bone steak, and the list can go on and on. They can switch their cuisine preferences in a heartbeat....usually right after you ordered 100 white medium-sized rats.
